At the end of the program

I had a great time with this program as I went through each activities, I find how amazing that people could do so much on the Internet. It is fun and very educational, I wouldn't mind to go through another program like this one. Lol, I had successfully completed it with in the due day, what a feeling.

Podcasts, Video & Downloadable audio

After went through each of the websites as required, I have find they are fascinating. You Tube and podcasts are great places to express one's self and at the sametime enjoy other's experience and creativity. Ebooks are very cheap to subscribe and some of them are even free to download, which are very convenient for people to use at the comfort of their own home. As I flicked through them, I learned few tips on cooking, how to download movies (still struggling with it) and how to apply eye makeup, isn't that great. As Internet become so popular these days, I sometime just wondering if in the near future all our public library's collection will be net based instead of having a physical location for people to visit. As for my own opinion, I still prefer a real library site for the public to come and pick they own material and at the same time meeting with other people. As humans we are socialized animals, we can not sit in front of a PC just by our self day after day, it would isolate us from the realistic world that we are currently living in. Which would be rather sad, don't u think?.

Online applications and tools

After experience with web based applications and tools, such as wordprocess and spreadsheets, I have find that as long as you have some basic knowledge of Microsoft office and Internet, learning to use these online based applications will a be very easy task. I think online applications and tools will be very well used by the public libraries in the near future, the reasons are: they don't cost a bucket of money to subscribe and they have provide most of the functions that within the Microsoft office package. I think they are great.

WikiWiki

As a student a year ago, I used to search information on the Internet and often come across Wiki. At first I thought it must been provided by an authority organization. As I went through Wiki's introduction today, to my surprise this website is extremely democratic and opens to anyone who are king to share their knowledge with the public, I think the person who first introduces the idea is a genius.

In the introduction, they have point out ways that Wiki can be used in libraries, such as:

• to create a book review corner for library's clients. So that opinion on different books can be shared by clients and library staff.
• provide subject entries on wiki
• involve the local community to exchange information on library and community's activities and information.
• involve staff into sharing and updating library information and also given library staff a place to share ideas.

Delicious sound delicious, and it can be used in a delicious way too. I find this kind of tagging and bookmarking is very easy to organise and handy to search. It will be a great tool for the library staff to search for information, exchange information and organise information. I have tried to tag few of my faviourt web pages using this tool, I have find it is extremly easy to use and very well organise without I puting too much effort into it. I have got del.icio.us on my bar now and I am sure I will use it all the time, or at least I hope I will use it all the time.

Fun day

I have tried few websites during this activity, I think it is a great fun and very use full tools too. Those websites can be used during children's activities and also in Lweb. I really wouldn't mind to discover golden eggs in our frige, and a brain that can discover the secret of the universe, and as beautiful as a poppy flower. To be women with wealth, knowledge, beauty and confidence, what more do we need? May be true and honest friendship.

Make Life "Really Simple" with RSS & a New Reader

I feel very depressed after finish this session. Personally I think it makes life rather more complicated. Everyday we are bombard with different kinds of information, life become more confusing rather than nice and simple, what has happened to the good old days. Anyway, after finish this session I still sassed out few positive points about using RSS and new reader. They are:

• it is a much convenient service for people to get to the information, news, blogs of what they want with out spam.
• all the information can be gathered into once place, without search the whole Internet
• update the information automatically
• will be great tools for library to search for up to date information without too much hassle
• good website to suggest to our clients, if they want add a new dynamic to they life.
